Festival of Christmas 2015

Blue Grass Farms Charities will hold its annual Festival of Christmas December 8 and 9, 2015 at  the Thoroughbred Training Center.  Over 906 individuals attended last year, 477 were children. Each child in attendance received a gift bag with two toys, books, hats and gloves and a treat bag. Each family received a food gift that consisted of a bag of fresh oranges, soup mixes, boxes of mac and cheese and a $20 Kroger gift card. We had a total of 30 volunteers help with preparations and at the event, plus a special volunteer cookie brigade of 39. The holiday program consisted of Lafayette Senior High School orchestra playing holiday music and a puppet show presented by a community volunteer. Decorations were provided in part by Helping Through Him Ministry and Bruised Reed. Families attending came from throughout the area Thoroughbred industry, including Keeneland, Stonestreet Farms, Fawn Leap Farm, Don Alberto Corporation, Mill Ridge Farm, Dromoland Farm Inc., Ramsey Farm, Three Chimneys Farm, WinStar Farm, Darley/Stonerside stables, Fasig-Tipton, Indian Creek Farm, Calumet Farm, Miacomet Farm, Dixiana Farm Cobra Farm, Chesapeake Farm, Lane's End Farm, Castleton Lyons and Shamrock Glen Farm. Thanks to everyone who donated to this event at Racino 2015 and through our newsletter appeal and to all our incredible volunteers.
